January 17, 2012

Voltage is delighted to announce that the Robert Morris Inn's search to find a Hairy, Kilted Scot" was successful!

The PR Team at Voltage launched the hunt for a talented Scot to host the Robert Morris Inn's annual Burns Night Supper in Maryland, USA.

Brian Gibson (57) a Tour Guide at Stirling Castle, won the coveted role of Burns Nicht Chairman. He has now headed out to the USA to prepare for the Burns Night Supper on the 21st January 2012.

Scottish entrepreneur Ian Fleming - owner of The Robert Morris Inn and The Lake of Menteith Hotel in Stirlingshire - began the hunt for an authentic host after realising that the St Andrews' Society of Maryland couldn't get the distinctive Scottish accent right.

Guests at the Robert Morris Inn are set to enjoy a feast of Scottish classics, including Cullen Skink, Prime Beef Rib and Haggis, 'Neeps an' Tatties, all washed down with Smokehead 18 year old Malt Whisky.
The Inn's Burns Night, with its authentic Scottish Chairman, has proved to be exceptionally popular and has already sold out.

Mr Gibson who has worked for Historic Scotland, who manage Stirling Castle, for 20 years, said; "I'm really looking forward to the trip to the States. It will be great fun hosting the Burns Night and sharing in the celebrations across the pond. I've been practising my Burns verse and the regalia is all packed so I'm good to go!"

Voltage is delighted to wave Brian off on his trip and are sure he will host the best Burns Night the Eastern Shore has ever seen!
